It may not look like much on the outside but the food is pretty darn good for the price. We always get shawarma poutine, chicken strips and burgers and have never had a complaint. Even better that the food is halal. Go in with an open mind and I don't think you will be disappointed.

If I could give a 0 star rating I would, this place does not deserve any business. They are given the power by the City of Kitchener to give parking tickets to people parked in front of their store or on the store property, even if they are customer, parking infractions. They are abusing their power and the City of Kitchener will not do anything about it. For example, if you are a customer and bought something there but leave your car there to go across the road to the washroom, they have the right to ticket you because you've left your car on their property but you are not there. (This was told to me as an example by the by-law person on the phone when I questioned them about it) If you go on Google reviews for this place, you can see other people's reviews about the same issue.

Had a decent-sized gyro for $3.99 earlier. It's convenient because it's beside the St. Charles bus terminal (especially for hungry people coming off the Greyhound). There's a very large variety of food available at the fast food counter, including a farily large pizza slice for $1.99.

TL;DR- DO NOT GO HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY. THERE ARE OTHER CONVENIENCE STORES NEARBY RUN BY DECENT PEOPLE.
The location is convenient, I'll give it that, and there is a nice variety of merchandise, but everything about this place is just disgusting. The floors have not been cleaned in a month at least, the product has not been rotated, and it is very crowded. It is in a very sketchy area and it's a common sight to see people doing drugs outside the store. Before this I have had no problems with the owner but tonight he was incredibly rude. We picked up a drink with a $1.99 price tag and brought it up. Before us was a young lady also buying some drinks, and he goes "declined again or do you have money this time?" Who says that to a customer? Whatever. My partner puts the correct amount of money on the counter, and the man very condescendingly states a higher price. We point out the tag on the display and this scammer continues to argue, so we give him the rest of the money. Whatever, it's fifty cents. He then goes "oh, and next time the bags are not allowed in my store" again, this would not be a problem were there any signage stating that it applies to everyone, but this appeared to be targeted because he saw us as inferior. I said there would not be a next time and he said "fine by me". This arrogant man believes that he is above good customer service because he is in a well populated location. Let's show him this isn't true. Please, everyone who sees this, boycott the Ontario St hasty market!

This Hasty Market has a little fast food place inside which is very good. Despite what other reviews say, the family and people that work here are very nice. This store is in a sketchy area with 'odd' people so of course the business has to step up its watch and dealings with people. It is crowded in the store as it has lots of stuff. A little disorganized but not dirty.
